Nigeria’s women’s beach volleyball team has booked a spot at the 2025 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship in Adelaide, Australia, after finishing third at the CAVB Continental Championship held in Martil, Morocco.
The duo of Esther Mbah and Pamela Bawa delivered a gritty performance, defeating Egypt 2-1 (21-14, 20-22, 15-9) in the bronze medal match to seal the qualification.
Nigeria Finishes 3rd in Africa
The win over Egypt not only secured Nigeria a podium finish but also earned them one of Africa’s continental slots for the 2025 Beach Volleyball World Championship, scheduled for November in Adelaide.
Speaking after the match, Head Coach Kayode Ajilore hailed the determination and teamwork displayed by the players throughout the tournament:
“Firstly, I give glory to God for crowning our efforts with success. The players proved that their African Games silver medal was no fluke. They followed every instruction and showed great discipline.”
