Zamalek Women’s Volleyball Club has cemented its dominance on the continent by winning the 2025 African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship with a thrilling 3-1 victory over arch-rivals Al Ahly. Held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, the final showdown was a true display of elite African volleyball, as Zamalek defended their title in a spectacular four-set clash (29-27, 22-25, 25-20, 25-22).

This marks Zamalek’s third consecutive continental title, reinforcing their status as the top women’s volleyball club in Africa.

The opening set set the tone for a fiercely competitive final, with both teams battling point-for-point. Zamalek fought back from behind to take the set 29-27, capitalizing on key errors by Al Ahly in the closing stages.

Al Ahly, led by the formidable Tatjana Bokan, roared back in the second set. Their improved blocking and attacking coordination disrupted Zamalek’s flow, allowing them to even the match at one set apiece (25-22).
