Nigeria was awarded the hosting rights for the 2nd African School Games in 2027, following a successful bid presented at the African Schools Sports Confederation meeting in Algiers. Officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports highlighted plans for upgraded stadiums, athlete villages, and logistics to ensure smooth competition. The event will feature athletics, football, basketball, volleyball, swimming, and other youth sports, creating opportunities for talent development across the continent.
