The Delta State Sports Commission reiterated its intention to host the 2026 National Youth Games, pressing the federal sports authorities to honour the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that granted the state hosting rights.
Officials highlighted the transformational impact the games would have on grassroots sport, local infrastructure, and talent identification, promising upgraded stadiums, athlete villages, and community engagement programs. Delta’s Sports Commissioner pointed to previous successful hosting of regional events as evidence of the state’s readiness and capacity.
