The Super Falcons delivered a dominant performance in the quarterfinals of WAFCON 2025, thrashing Zambia 5–0 at Stade Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca to secure their place in the semifinals.
Nigeria wasted no time asserting control with centre-back Osinachi Ohale heading home a precise cross just two minutes into the match. Captain Esther Okoronkwo doubled the lead before halftime, turning provider into scorer with a composed finish. The relentless pressure continued in the second half, with Chinwendu Ihezuo, Tosin Demehin, and Folashade Ijamilusi completing the scoring.
The emphatic victory not only showcased depth and attacking versatility but also served as revenge for Nigeria’s 1–0 loss to Zambia in the bronze medal match of the previous tournament. Coach Justin Madugu praised his players’ intensity and professionalism after the game.
