CF Carthage Women continued their impressive run in the African Club Championship with a commanding 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-20) victory over Sococim W on Tuesday to book a place in the Quater-Finals, asserting their dominance in front of supporting crowd.
The match began with CF Carthage W firing on all cylinders, racing to an early 7-0 lead in the first set. Their aggressive play forced an early timeout from Sococim after a double-point rally brought the visitors to 15-9. However, Carthage maintained control, closing the set emphatically at 25-11.
In the second set, CF Carthage Women once again started strong with a 4-0 run. Sococim W managed to get on the board, cutting the deficit to 4-1, and then fought back to 7-6—capitalizing on a serve fault by Carthage. This brief momentum shift prompted a timeout from the Tunisian side. But Carthage quickly regained composure, and thanks to powerful serving from Jahib Mohammed, who pushed the lead to 14-10, the home team regained full control and took the set 25-17.
Sococim Women showed glimpses of a comeback early in the third set, but CF Carthage W’s consistency and depth proved too much to handle. Despite a spirited effort from the visitors, the set concluded 25-20 in favor of Carthage, sealing the match in straight sets.
