Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman has been named Serie A Player of the Month for December 2024 after a devastating run of four goals and three assists that helped his team climb the table.
The Super Eagles star, who has been in sensational form since joining Atalanta, received the award on Tuesday. In his acceptance speech, Lookman said the recognition motivates him as he prepares for a busy 2025 with club and country.
“This is for my family, my teammates and all the Nigerian fans who support me. I am not done yet,” he said.
Lookman’s dribbling, pace and clinical finishing have made him a fan favourite in Italy. Coach Gian Piero Gasperini described him as “unstoppable when he is in this mood.”
Back home, Nigerians celebrated the news. Many believe Lookman’s form will be crucial when the Super Eagles resume World Cup qualifying in March. The 27-year-old now has 11 goals and eight assists in all competitions this season.
