Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Women’s Volleyball Team cruised into the quarterfinals of the 2025 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship with a dominant straight-set victory over tournament hosts Nigeria Customs Services (NCS) in a Round of 16 clash held in Abuja.
In what was expected to be a tightly contested matchup, the Kenyan side proved far superior, dispatching their Nigerian opponents 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-17) in front of a home crowd at the indoor arena.
KCB stamped their authority early in the first set, combining swift attacks and solid blocking to outclass the NCS team 25-19. The trend continued in the second and third sets, with the Kenyan side displaying cohesion, depth, and relentless pressure on the net to wrap up the match in straight sets.
Despite the support from the local fans, Nigeria Customs Services failed to match the intensity and technical prowess of their East African rivals. A flurry of unforced errors and miscommunications on court hampered any chance of a comeback.
