Nigeria’s Para Badminton program received a boost on September 5, 2025, with the launch of training camps, inclusion initiatives, and fundraising for the All-African Para Badminton Championships. The initiative, backed by the National Sports Commission and state-level stakeholders, aims to provide athletes with disabilities competitive exposure and professional coaching.
Officials highlighted the importance of inclusion in sports and encouraged grassroots participation to expand the pool of talented para-athletes. Coaches emphasized that the program would not only prepare Nigeria for continental competitions but also strengthen pathways toward the Para-Badminton World Championships.
