Victor Osimhen reminded the football world why he remains one of Africa’s deadliest strikers, scoring twice as Galatasaray demolished arch-rivals Besiktas 3-0 in a fiery Turkish Super Lig derby on Wednesday night.
The Nigerian superstar, on loan from Napoli, opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a powerful header and added a second in the 67th minute with a clinical finish after a swift counter-attack. The victory sent the home fans into delirium at the RAMS Park and pushed Galatasaray further clear at the top of the table.
Osimhen, who has now scored 14 goals in all competitions this season, dedicated the win to his Nigerian fans.
“This is for every Nigerian who supports me through thick and thin,” he said in a post-match interview. “I am enjoying my football here and I will keep working hard.”
Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk could not hide his joy.

The performance has once again sparked transfer speculation, with several European clubs said to be monitoring the situation ahead of the summer window. For now, however, Osimhen remains fully focused on helping Galatasaray win the league title and the Turkish Cup.
