The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) confirmed that the 2025 All Nigeria Athletics Championships and World Trials would be held at Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) Sports Complex, Lagos, from July 31–August 3, 2025. The event serves as the primary selection mechanism for Nigerian athletes aiming to compete in the World Athletics Championships later in the year.
Top stars, including Tobi Amusan, Ese Brume, and Divine Oduduru, are expected to compete, along with emerging talents identified during national trials. The championships feature events in sprints, hurdles, long-distance running, jumps, throws, and relays, ensuring comprehensive assessment of Nigeria’s athletic talent pool.
AFN officials emphasized compliance with international competition standards, including certified tracks, anti-doping protocols, and medical readiness. Local media will broadcast live coverage to engage fans nationwide.
