The Nigeria U-19 women’s cricket squad has been officially announced for the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup starting January 18 in Malaysia. Captain Esther Nwobodo says the team is ready to make history.
The 15-player squad includes several players who impressed in the domestic league. Coach Adekunle Adegbola promised aggressive cricket.
“We are not going there to participate, we are going to compete,” he said.
Cricket is growing rapidly in Nigeria. This World Cup appearance is another milestone for the sport in the country.
