Nigerian striker Victor Boniface continued his fine scoring form with a well-taken goal as Bayer Leverkusen defeated Wolfsburg 3-1 in the Bundesliga on Tuesday night. The former Union Berlin man now has 12 goals in all competitions this season and is becoming a key player for the German side.
Boniface came off the bench in the second half and scored the third goal with a powerful finish that left the goalkeeper with no chance. Coach Xabi Alonso hailed his contribution after the match:
“Victor is in great form. He brings energy, goals and confidence to the team. We are very happy with his progress.”
Back home, Super Eagles fans are excited and many are calling for the new coach to include him in the next squad. Boniface dedicated the goal to his family and Nigerian supporters.
