Team Nigeria concluded its Tokyo 2025 campaign with mixed emotions. Although only one medal, Tobi Amusan’s silver in the 100 m hurdles was brought home, multiple athletes reached finals, including Kayinsola Ajayi in the 100 m and Ezekiel Nathaniel in the 400 m hurdles, the latter breaking the national record.
Federation officials emphasized that these milestones represent significant progress in athlete development, despite logistical and funding challenges. Experts noted that maintaining this trajectory will require sustained investment, modern training facilities, and regular international competition exposure.
