April 3, 2025 – In a thrilling display of speed and determination, Jennifer Chukwuma of Delta State emerged as the winner of the women’s 100m final at the ongoing Niger Delta Sports Festival. Chukwuma clocked an impressive 11.41 seconds, claiming the gold medal and cementing her place as the fastest woman in the competition.
Chukwuma held off a fierce challenge from Sophia Efetobore of Bayelsa, who finished just behind in second place with a time of 11.48 seconds. Kate Odumoso, also from Delta, completed the podium finishers, securing third place with a time of 11.55 seconds.
The race, which took place on a highly charged track, showcased the incredible talent emerging from the region. Chukwuma’s gold medal performance is not only a testament to her hard work but also a symbol of Delta State’s dominance in athletics at the festival.
