The Super Falcons of Nigeria have officially kicked off their final training camp in Lisbon, Portugal, ahead of the 13th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON 2024) taking place in Morocco from July 5 to 26, 2025.
The squad arrived on Sunday evening after a two-leg trip from Abuja to Casablanca, and then onward to Lisbon, where they landed at Humberto Delgado International Airport aboard a Royal Air Maroc flight at 17:49 local time.
Light Training and Portugal Friendly
Following a restful night at their hotel, 16 players were present for the first official team breakfast in Lisbon. The technical crew, led by coach Justin Madugu, scheduled a light workout session Monday morning—designed to help players shake off jet lag and settle into camp before tonight’s high-profile friendly against Portugal at the Estádio José Gomes in Amadora.
The FIFA-sanctioned match is part of Nigeria’s final tune-up before heading to Morocco for Africa’s biggest women’s football showpiece.
