Nigeria’s D’Tigress took a major step toward their title defence at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket with a resounding 83–47 victory over Cameroon in the quarterfinals on August 1, 2025 at the Palais des Sports in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
From the first quarter, D’Tigress asserted their dominance, leading 21–9 and extending their advantage steadily throughout the match. Nigeria’s superior depth, athleticism, and offensive rhythm were on full display, as the team stretched the margin to a comfortable lead by halftime and never looked back.
Standout performers included Amy Okonkwo with 18 points, supported by Victoria Balogun and Nicole Enabosi with 12 points each. The Nigerian defence also stifled Cameroon’s scoring opportunities, forcing turnovers and controlling the paint.
This comprehensive win secured the D’Tigress a place in the semifinals, their sixth consecutive semifinal appearance in AfroBasket history and kept them on course for an unprecedented fifth straight championship.
