The Nigeria Football Federation has officially appointed French-Beninese coach Eric Chelle as the new Super Eagles manager on a two-year deal. Chelle, who previously coached Mali, will take charge from March and has already started studying the squad.
The announcement was made on Wednesday evening. Chelle said he is honoured and ready to lead Nigeria to the 2026 World Cup.
“This is a big challenge but I love challenges,” he told reporters.
Fans have mixed reactions but most agree it is time for fresh ideas. The new coach’s first assignment will be the March qualifiers.
